okay, so this is my first critique, so bear with me.
I would like to start off saying that this is a very cute picture. the colors go very well together, and make the drawing seem very soft, which is nice. something i would suggest is giving it a bit more depth by having darker shading. its nice to have that soft pastel feel, but make sure you use a dark color to finish off the shading, or it will look a bit flat.
dont forget to have a varied range of tone in the shading and highlighting, the dark should be obvious, as well as the light.
i think the symmetry of the face is very good, i dont see any problems there, but i think the drawing is a bit boxy. if that is your style, disregard this, its just a minor concern.
i suggest giving depth to the hair by shading the the strands. it shouldnt be completely flat. but i think the way you drew the hair gives a very digital and modern feel to the picture, i like that.
i see youre doing cell shading. i suggest you swap intervals of shades to make a gradient like shade for a solid but contrasting shade.
i wont get into anatomy, because its a chibi X3
also, for the perspective of it, its a bit off. the base (the green circle) is viewed a bit from above, whereas the boy andm the pet (or pokemon, sorry im not familiar with it XD) are viewed from straight out. this also applies to the shadow. the shadow shouldnt go above their ankles at this view.
although the base is a very nice touch, gives a bit more depth and composition to the picture.
for originality, i have to be honest, this isnt the most orginal thing ive ever seen, but since its fanart i wont bother you about it. although, you have a very cute style, i hope to see it develop!
overall, this drawing needs a bit of improvement, but i assure you, its a very nice drawing! i like it a lot, and hope to see more work from you!
sorry if its a bad critique OTZ im trying to be as gentle as possible, but im used to brutal and ego shattering art school level critiques >.< please dont take anything i said in the wrong way, it really is a super cute drawing! <3
Waah, I finally got around to being able to comment XD It's really cute, I love the fennekin (AFGHJ I forgot how to spell DX) And the shadings really nice~ Though the shadow on the bottom is off. Maybe you could have moved it a bit closer? I love both your shading techniques~
